 Press Releases

  • June 14, 2021 – CapitaLand, one of Asia's largest diversified real estate groups, announced INOVUES as the High Impact Award winner in the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge out of six finalists shortlisted from over 270 entries received from more than 25 countries.

In November 2020, CapitaLand launched a global open call for sustainability innovation in its inaugural CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge (CSXC) to accelerate innovation and collaboration within the built environment. The CSXC is the first sustainability challenge by a Singapore real estate company on a global scale.

As the High Impact Award winner, INOVUES will receive a S$50,000 award and will pilot, test, and implement its patented insulating glass retrofit technology at select CapitaLand properties in over 220 cities and 30 countries.

The Minister for Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore, Ms. Grace Fu, who was the Guest-of-Honour at the CSXC Grand Finale, said "Initiatives such as the CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge help to uncover unique solutions that may offer the right competitive edge.  It also gives innovators an opportunity to testbed and refine their ideas, which can eventually be scaled up to benefit businesses, consumers and our environment.”

CapitaLand also announced a S$50 million Innovation Fund to support the test-bedding of sustainability and other high-tech innovations in the built environment space as the Group steps up its sustainability drive.

  • May 31, 2021 – Breakthrough Energy, the umbrella name of several organizations that aim to accelerate innovation in sustainable energy and in other technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, published a Corporate Climate Action Playbook that includes ideas and action items for businesses large and small to help speed innovation and reduce GHGs along their supply chain.

Established in 2015 by Bill Gates and a coalition of private investors concerned about the impacts of accelerating climate change, Breakthrough Energy supports the innovations that will lead the world to net-zero emissions.

The playbook, which includes several case studies that describe and demonstrate effective transformations that are already underway, featured INOVUES and the 2019 pilot project with Saint-Gobain at their North America Research Center in Northborough, Massachusetts in one of the case studies.

In 2019, Saint-Gobain, the world's leading building products and materials company, in partnership with Greentown Labs, the largest cleantech incubator in North America, launched an accelerator program, the InNOVAte Challenge, focused on developing innovative solutions to disrupt incumbent technologies within the built environment. INOVUES was a winner in the challenge out of more than 110 startups from around the world. As a result, Saint-Gobain became one of the early adopters of INOVUES' insulating glass retrofit technology and also a shareholder in the company following their second investment in the business through NOVA, Saint-Gobain's external ventures arm, which is dedicated to fostering partnerships with startups, incubators, and venture capital.

  • Non-invasive, Overglaze Window Retrofits
INOVUES Glazing Shields are insulating glass retrofits that transform existing single- and double-glazed windows into energy-efficient double- or triple-glazed without removal or replacement....

  • INOVUES’ low-carbon window retrofits provide similar performance results to new replacement windows while utilizing 70% fewer materials. They increase window performance by up to 10x and reduce energy consumption and peak heating and cooling loads by up to 40% at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional window replacement projects and with no downtime or disruption to the building or occupants—providing up to 10x faster payback period and up to 400% return on investment.

INOVUES Glazing Shields incorporate a new high-performance glass panel and enable existing building facades to benefit from the latest energy-saving and smart glass technologies. INOVUES’ overglaze retrofits are securely mounted on the inside or outside face of the existing window glass using a non-invasive attachment mechanism that requires no drilling. Once installed, the retrofits create a hermetically sealed desiccated air gap between the original and newly added glass, which performs like a thermal cavity.

INOVUES' patented Glazing Shield™ system meets the ASTM and AAMA industry standards and it is compatible with most existing window and curtain wall systems. For more information, visit us at booth #1324.
