 Press Releases

  • IRVINE, Calif. – July 22, 2021 – Arcules, the leading provider of unified, intelligent security-as-a-service solutions, announced that local Nebraska non-profit, Together, recently streamlined their security infrastructure through the Arcules unified cloud platform. The Arcules solution allows scalability for Together by being cost effective, simple to use, and compatible with existing IP cameras and networks.

Like many nonprofits, Together runs lean to preserve and direct resources back to the people who need them most. In 2018, President and CEO Mike Hornacek made the decision to adopt the cloud across their entire organization, from their enterprise software to phone systems and video surveillance infrastructure. The non-profit recently updated their cameras and ultimately, desired a cloud-based solution that would allow them to preserve their recent investments.

As a longtime Milestone customer, the security upgrade needed to be able to integrate with their Milestone-XProtect video management software. After researching cloud-based security solutions, Hornacek decided that Arcules was capable of fulfilling all of their requirements and would allow for future scalability for the organization. The Arcules’ open platform enabled Together to leverage their existing cameras and provide cost and operational efficiencies.

“By adopting a cloud-based platform, Together has been able to significantly reduce security management and maintenance.” said Hornacek. “Software upgrades are automatic, and continuous monitoring and proactive support alerts our team to potential issues before they become problems. As a, nonprofit, we are often spread thin, and Arcules cloud-based infrastructure has made us more effective in ensuring the safety of our facilities and participants.”

“Arcules is proud to play a part in offering our unified cloud platform solution for Together” said Nigel Waterton, CRO, Arcules. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for Together’s services surged by more than 400% across all programs and their volunteer count was cut in half. Today, they have the support of a robust technology backbone that empowers them to monitor activity from any location and provides peace-of-mind that safety and security are enhanced, even when staffing is reduced. As Together Omaha continues to grow, we look forward to scaling with them.”

  • IRVINE, Calif. – Apr. 22, 2021 – Arcules, the leading provider of unified, intelligent security-as-a-service solutions, announced that Seattle Theatre Group (STG) recently used the Arcules Unified Cloud Security Solution to solve their surveillance and server management challenges. The Arcules solution ensures the ease of streamlining video security infrastructure by being compatible with existing IP cameras and networks.

Like many theatres and event venues around the world, STG faces security challenges when thousands of people visit and leave the venue. In order to combat this, STG responded by implementing their first video surveillance solution and streamed video feed from two of the theatres back to a centralized server at the main theatre. However, problems arose when the dozens of feeds going over the VPN were plagued by network failures. This resulted in the deployment of dedicated servers at each site and tripling overhead management.

Initially, STG took a different approach to correct these problems before choosing Arcules. “We evaluated a wide variety of big-name video surveillance services, but they were all so complex that it would have resulted in significant IT training and management,” said Michael E. von Kempf, STG Computer and Information Systems Manager. “Ultimately, I chose Arcules because they came to the table with a simplified approach. The service worked well with my existing cameras out of the box. It also supports a wide variety of vendors, so it was easy to visualize how they could help me grow in the future.”

STG partnered with Washington-based security experts, Differential Networks, to deploy Arcules’ platform with ease. By streamlining STG’s existing solution free of charge, the Arcules Cloud Platform enabled the organization to leverage their existing infrastructure. In total, 70 video channels allow von Kempf to easily monitor and manage all sites while saving more than 16 hours of server maintenance each month.

“The Arcules Unified Cloud Security Platform allows us to deliver highly reliable and scalable services to our customers like STG, while also enabling us to differentiate our business,” said Matt Bode, President, Differential Networks. “As an integrator, Arcules makes it simple for us to modernize our customer’s video networks with ease.”

“We are happy to play a part in providing cloud security solutions for such a cherished non-profit like Seattle Theatre Group” said Nigel Waterton, CRO, Arcules. “The entertainment industry—particularly theatres and event venues—has a critical need for top-of-the-line video surveillance and data collection. They can prove particularly difficult to manage if the security infrastructure is not scalable. The implementation of cloud solutions not only makes it easier on the staff but allows for ease of monitoring and managing numerous feeds, and large savings on training, maintenance and hardware.”
