Portia Mount is vice president and global leader of strategic marketing at Ingersoll Rand. In her current role, Portia leads the strategic marketing team which is focused on enabling and accelerating marketing excellence across Ingersoll Rand. Her organization partners with our business and marketing leaders, serving as a global integrator of marketing including brand and marketing best practices, capabilities, partnerships and technologies. Portia also leads the new Marketing Leadership Council, a global cross-SBU team of marketing leaders from each Ingersoll Rand strategic business unit, to champion marketing excellence through enabling and accelerating marketing capability that delivers customer-focused value to our businesses.
Portia is a skilled marketing strategist and leader, with more than 20 years of proven experience developing and executing global, multi-channel marketing and brand strategies that drive sales and audience engagement. Prior to joining Ingersoll Rand she was Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Chief of Staff at the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL). In this role, she designed and led a global rebranding of CCL, transformed and led a full-scale global marketing business unit, and developed and executed global marketing strategies in support of CCL's long-range objectives. Her previous experience includes marketing, public relations, and public affairs leadership roles for Edelman and Burson-Marsteller.
Portia holds a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University, a Master of Arts in East Asian Studies and cultural anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Arts in visual anthropology from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. A certified executive coach, Portia is passionate about women’s leadership issues and is co-author of the published career advice book “Kick Some Glass: Ten Ways Women Succeed in their Careers on Their Own Terms” released on October 5, 2018 by McGraw Hill.
