J. Michael Coleman Scholarship

for Emerging Professionals

The J. Michael Coleman Scholarship is awarded annually to up to 10 young or emerging professionals working in commercial real estate to attend the BOMA International Conference & Expo. The scholarship covers registration fees plus $1,000 USD to be used toward other costs (travel, hotel, etc.). Awardees are also invited to an exclusive Future Leaders Networking Reception at the conference. 

Applicants must be a BOMA member and an emerging professional. An emerging professional is defined as a member with less than 5 years of working full-time in commercial real estate, and whose responsibilities include managing or operating commercial properties. Review application procedures

This scholarship, administered by the BOMA Foundation, is named in honor of J. Michael Coleman, BOMA Fellow, who passed away in 2020. Mike had a successful career in the builidng security industry, working for more than 30 years as the top commercial real estate expert for AlliedBarton Security (now Allied Universal) before retiring in 2016. Mike's generosity, dedication and mentorship were hallmarks of his active, decades-long involvement with BOMA. Among his many contributions to the BOMA community, Mike served on BOMA International's Executive Committee and the BOMA Foundation Board. The mission of the J. Michael Coleman Scholarship fund is to support young and emerging professionals in their careers and in their involvement with BOMA.

 


  

   The 2024 BOMA+Yardi Sustainability Grant

      

  

The grant is awarded to a select group of recipients who are emerging or veteran professionals working in sustainability to attend the 2024 BOMA International Conference & Expo in Philadelphia, PA.

The grant covers the cost of the registration plus up to $1,000 travel stipend to offset the travel costs.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • There is no age or experience limit; however you cannot have attended the BOMA Conference & Expo in the past.
  • Must be a current sustainability professional or student with an interest in bringing their sustainability-minded goals and ideas to the commercial real estate industry.
  • You do not need to be  a BOMA member to be considered for the Sustainability Grant.
  • You must be able to attend the entire conference, July 13 - 16.
  • Provide feedback to conference organizers on your experience, and share a testimonial that can be used to promote future conferences.
