Author and future of work expert Melisa Swift serves as U.S. Transformation Leader at Mercer, where she leads the consultancy's transformation practice for North America, which brings together advanced workforce analytics, empathetic employee research, and innovative skills analysis to redefine how organizations think about the humans that power their business. Prior to Mercer, Swift was senior client partner at Korn Ferry where she led the firm's global workforce transformation practices and partnered with their largest accounts to imagine, architect, and evolve their workforces to be equipped for continuous change. Across her diverse career, she has also founded a research institute on leadership of the future for Russell Reynolds Associates, launched two ESG practices at Delooitte, and conducted landmark carbon credit trades for Deutsche Bank. Widely recognized as an authority on the human side of workplace transformation, Swift serves as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives at large organizations and has been a leading voice on reshaping work in the pandemic era. Her new book, Work Here Now: Think Like a Human and Build a Powerhouse Workplace, explores 100 practical strategies to get to a more human future of work. Her research has been published in Harvard Business Review, and The Wall Street Journal, and her insights have been quoted in Newsweek, The Washington Post, The Economist, Axios, and more. In addition to being a lead contributor to The Enterpriser's Project, she has also appeared on NPR and Al-Jazeera English, has been featured as one of Twitter's "20 Digital Transformation Leaders to Follow" and named a "Top Influencer on the Future of Work" by Onalytica.
 

State of the Industry 2023

Prior to Ms. Swift's presentation, BOMA International President and Chief Operating Officer, Henry Chamberlain, APR, CAE, FASAE, will take the stage Tuesday morning to deliver his highly anticipated annual State of the Industry address. He'll present and in-depth look at the current state of the CRE industry and provide insight into how this time of disruption and massive change is transforming commercial real estate for the long-term.

In his role as President and COO, Henry Chamberlain oversees the overall operations and staff of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. He prepares and supports the elected Officers and Executive Committee and extended leadership team, and represents the association to external audiences. Prior to joining BOMA International, Chamberlain was director of communications for the Gannett Company during the launch phase of the Nation's Newspaper, USA TODAY. He began his career in Washington, D.C. working in the press office of a national presidential campaign. He is a member of the The Real Estate Round Table, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Committee of 100, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the National Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He is a graduate of the University of Vermont.
